Bass Jouhikko

Bass Jouhikko made from alder body and basswood soundboards but may be upgraded to walnut body or curly maple body and spruce soundboards. Tailpiece is braided with three different strands of sinew for extra added tencil strength. Stained a beautiful dark cherry red and finished to a high gloss varnish, This instrument provides a really low undertone and the vibrance of the instrument really shines through. A video sample is shown below so you can hear the sound of this deep beautiful instrument. The instrument comes tuned standard to D♭,A♭,D♭(octave lower than first D♭). Comes standard in horsehair strings but Gut strings may be added for an additional charge.
